Some Recent Changes to Colorado APCO

Awards Ceremony

Your APCO Board has decided to move the annual awards ceremony that was normally conducted during National Telecommunicators Week to the State Conference in October.  Nominations for Telecommunicator, Supervisor, Manager/Director, Radio Tech, and IT person of the year will be accepted on-line starting in August.  The goal of moving the awards to the State Conference was to get better participation and provide a stronger recognition program for the winners.  More information will be coming on the website.

Microphone Editor Steps Down

After many years of dedicated service Heather McCarthy has asked to step down as the editor of the Colorado APCO Newsletter the Microphone.  This is a very difficult and time consuming job that Heather worked on, in addition to her normal duties.  Getting others to submit articles or items for the newsletter and then putting it all together is a monumental task.  Heather did this for all of us year after year with amazing creativity and dedication to Colorado APCO members.  I would like to thank Heather for all of her work.  Her talents will be greatly missed.  Heather will still be around serving our Chapter as Executive Council Representative and Coordinator of the annual State Conference.

Julie Buck, Dispatch Supervisor with the City of Aurora and Colorado APCO 2nd Vice President, has offered to take over the Microphone.  Thanks Julie, we wish you well with this endeavor.
