EMD-Colorado Meeting Minutes April 12, 2001

Vice President, Sharon Clever, called meeting to order at 1400

New Business:

Claudia w/ EMD Assoc. has been involved in a severe traffic accident and
will not be able to create database as discussed in previous meetings, Carl
Stephens w/ Garfield County offered to attempt the task of creating an EMD
database and web page.


Ed Vaughan with Jefferson County brought to discussion the EMD Provider
Instructor course and the overwhelming response with outside agency
response. This led to the discussion of the importance of State minimum
cards, EMD provider cards and each agencies own required cards. It was
suggested to reach out to all dispatch centers and get them involved to
voice this concern w/ the State Board of Public Health and Safety reference
EMD recognition.

A copy of the letter recently submitted to Mr. Armacost with Public Health
was available to view, to date no one had received information that
President, Millie Miller had received a response.
It was suggestion that it is necessary to take it another level. An E-mail
will be submitted inquiring all agencies about their EMD Program and
instructor names.

It was suggested to get an Agenda of ReTacs/Semtac that State
Representatives attend and possibly address the EMD issue at the meeting.

Cindy Cline w/ Jefferson County will format E-mail and gather database
information.

Linette Stein w/ CSP will gather Public Health and Environment personnel
information so that a letter can be submitted to the supervisor of Mike
Merrill and Mr. Armacost.

Good resources were provided ref a question of EMD continuing education
skills. Others were informed that APCO monthly magazine has continue ed
articles and NHTSA (the federal EMD book) is also an excellent Resource
Guide.
