EMD MEETING MINUTES - October 13, 2000
HOSTED BY JEFFERSON COUNTY COMMUNICATIONS, GOLDEN
The meeting was called to order at 11:06 a.m. by Chairperson Millie Miller.
Introductions made by those in attendance.
Reminder - information can be shared by joining COLORADO-EMD@EGROUPS.COM
New copies of the policy/procedure manual were passed out and discussed as
was the new provider manual. Next project is to update the trainees manual.
Discussed fax from Bonnie Straight ref her AED card. Possibly this
information can go on the background card with your physician advisors
approval. Suggested to get ahold of the three types of AED's to use as
training tools.
OLD BUSINESS:
Need to form a committee that will contact State EMS and find out the status
of their commitment to the EMD committee. Need to write a letter to Mike
Merrell. If no reply, will need to go up the State chain of command.
Millie will draft the letter.
Boulder County dispatch wants all agencies in Boulder County to use the
Clawson system. Bruce Romero stated that Medical Priorities will back users
of their program only on the portions of the program being used. (Discussion
was about using the layered responses and that a lot of agencies don't
"tell" the crews how to respond. An agency can use the portions of Medical
Priorities that fit their agencies protocol.)
NEW BUSINESS:
Continuing education - sharing with other agencies any C/E classes you are
hosting with other agencies who can't hold their own. As part of C/E, can
watch the Learning Channel, "Trauma- Life in the ER". Can apply for up to 2
hours of C/E.
For the January meeting, trying to get all instructors to attend.
Elections will be held at the January meeting.
