CSP Headquarters 700 Kipling St., Denver Colorado
Old Business:

“The Colorado EMD Committee is representative of multiple agencies from around Colorado. We are committed to establishing guidelines in order to maintain and improve emergency medical dispatching to the citizens of Colorado.
This will be accomplished through recommending the establishment of standards of care, training, continuing education, protocols and policies for the implementation and maintenance of EMD programs in the State of Colorado.”
· Pro’s and Con’s of the Committee establishing a 501 (c) 3, non-profit
Organization was discussed. It was agreed all in attendance that the Committee should continue with the process and Jackie with 911 Solutions will be in charge of the Task Force to get the process started. Until the non-profit status is obtained, 911 Solutions will be the organization in which the State EMS Grant will be applied through. The “Grants Task Force” was formed as a standing committee.
· The most recent set of By-laws was reviewed and revised. The by-laws will be
Posted on the State Health Departments website for viewing with voting to occur at the January 2003 meeting. The following is the website that can be accessed:
http://www.cdphe.state.co.us/em/Communications/PCPommunications.asp
Jackie from Adams County 911 and Brian with Action Care Ambulance will be in contact with their agencies to see if this can be added to their departments website as a link.
· Several in attendance expressed their concern about not getting any or all of the information being posted on the Yahoo e-group. Because of this, the committee will make a better effort to assure the information is available to any interested people, to include posting the information on the State website under EMD. (If you know of a person or agency not receiving the information, please take it upon yourself to forward postings and information along to them.)
· Because only a few “cost analysis” informational packets were returned, a Task Force was formed to try to get more participation from around the state. The following people volunteered to concentrate on specific regions so they can be completed by the January 1, 2003 deadline.
Western slope: Connie Johnson w/Cortez
South East: Jackie Reynolds w/Adams County 911
North East: Sheryl Lopez w/Sterling
If your agency hasn’t turned in its cost analysis yet, please get with these people.
New Business:
· Election of Officers for 2003. The following people were nominated, elections will take place at the January 2003 meeting:
Treasurer: Jackie Reynolds w/ Adams County 911
Secretary: Sheryl Lopez w/Sterling
Vice Chair: Kimberly Archuleta w/ Boulder
Chair: Sharon Clever w/Route County
· Jackie with Adams County 911 distributed the letter from their agencies Medical Advisor. Several agencies were interested in getting something similar but weren’t sure what it should contain.
· All agreed that a representative of the EMD Committee should attend all SEMTAC meetings in order to have continued recognition and proper representation.
